WW IFUN is an international association based on the collaboration among free women's universities and knowledge-creation networks from Norway,(www.kun.nl.no and www.kvu.hm.no/) Italy (www.universitadelledonne.it) and Canada (www.criaw-icref.ca/) and feminist scholars, activists and researchers from around the globe and especially from the Economic South.

 Its main aim is the establishment of decentralised Feminist Universities for the creation, consolidation and transmittal of feminist knowledge and women's wisdom, reconsidering the academic organisation of knowledge in this perspective.

Its main activities are:

  • Collecting the best of women’s and feminist cultures, visions and practices as the basis for developing research, teaching methodologies and curricula in the 9 areas currently identified as the most urgent for the new generations in our times: Ecology-ecofeminism, Feminist ethics, Peace and spirituality, Feminist economy and social justice, Alternative sustainable technology, Empowerment and politics, Feminist /women ‘s culture/s, Holistic health, Information and Media.

  • Organising and developing our feminist methodology for international seminars in different locations where women from diverse backgrounds, cultures and disciplines (academics, activists, indigenous women and politicians) reflect on their own experiences and collaboratively develop new insights, knowledge and wisdom;

  • Collating the collaborative seminar learning process and its results in training materials for transformative feminist leadership at different levels and for women of different backgrounds;

  • Developing projects of International Solidarity/Cooperation in real partnership with women from the Economic South;

  • Developing feminist summer schools.

 Participants to date have included women from: Australia, Bangladesh, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, India, Italy, Japan, Kossovo, Mozambique, New Zealand, Norway, Palestine, Portugal, South Africa, Sudan, Sweden, Ukraine, United States, and Zimbabwe.
